Naboo N-1 Starfighter — Concept Art

Doug Chiang’s Naboo N-1 Starfighter represented a radical departure from the used-universe aesthetic of the original trilogy. Where those ships were angular and battle-worn, the N-1 was sleek, chromatic, and almost Art Deco in its curves. The design reflected the culture of Naboo itself — elegant, prosperous, and untouched by war. Chiang produced hundreds of iterations before arriving at the final chrome-and-yellow design, each one exploring the tension between beauty and function that defined the prequel trilogy’s visual identity.
